Chico's economy is changing; we see it every day. As Chico looks toward the future – 2030 – the City Council identified the development of an Economic Vitality Strategy as a priority under our Strategic Goal of Long-Term Viability. 

For me economic vitality is about more than jobs and businesses. It is about creating opportunity, supporting a strong workforce, maintaining Chico's role as the regional hub, strengthening our community assets, and ensuring we have the economic foundation needed to support quality of life for future generations.

The purpose of this effort is to better understand the opportunities, challenges, and trends influencing Chico's economy and develop with the input of a CEO Council of business leaders, city departments and our partners, a practical roadmap for the years ahead.
